The B on Burdick
Creating a new chapter of equitable development within Kalamazoo’s Bronson Healthy Living Campus.
The “B” on Burdick represents the next phase in the transformation of Kalamazoo’s downtown south corridor. Located within the 14-acre Bronson Healthy Living Campus, the project builds on more than a decade of investment in health, education, and sustainability. Developed by Bogan Developments in partnership with Bronson Healthcare, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and the City of Kalamazoo, The “B” will introduce new affordable housing and commercial space designed to connect people, services, and opportunity.
A Continuation of the Campus Vision
The Bronson Healthy Living Campus—home to Bronson Healthcare, Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s (KVCC’s) Culinary and Allied Health Building, and the Food Innovation Center—was established to link health, learning, and local food systems. The B on Burdick extends that vision by activating adjacent property for community use and mixed-income living.
Community-Focused Design
At the heart of the development is a new bodega operated by the People’s Food Co-Op, expanding access to healthy, affordable groceries in a growing downtown corridor. The site plan also includes modern, energy-efficient apartments and thoughtfully designed ground-floor commercial space to encourage walkability and connection across the campus and surrounding neighborhoods.
Partnership and Impact
Through collaboration with mission-aligned partners, The B on Burdick advances Bogan Developments’ goal of equitable redevelopment—turning underutilized property into an active, inclusive environment that supports residents and local businesses alike. By combining affordability, quality, and accessibility, the project embodies Bogan’s ELITE standard and continues the momentum of community-driven investment across Kalamazoo.
Timeline
Construction is targeted to begin in 2026, following final design and financing completion. Once open, The B on Burdick will serve as both a gateway to the Healthy Living Campus and a model for integrated, community-oriented development.
