Zone 32
Zone 32 reclaims part of a 1.4-acre former Brownfield site in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood.
Zone 32 boasts 12 mixed-income housing units, an early learning center, and commercial space. It is the first step towards a future complete neighborhood where all residents, not just our tenants, can meet most of their daily needs on foot or by bike, fostering a complete, thriving community.

Lighthouse Ridge
Lighthouse Ridge is a 52 unit development in South Haven Township, Michigan.
This collaborative project with Wallick Communities is located on 13 acres next to I-196. Lighthouse Ridge will feature a club house and playground at the center of 52 affordable housing units.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025.

Zone 32: Phase 2
Building on the foundation of Zone 32, Phase 2 will add 36 units of affordable housing to the existing mixed-used development. Enhanced amenities, including a fitness room and community room will be added.
In partnership with Kalamazoo Forward Ventures, Phase 2 is part of a three year strategic plan for the reclaimed brownfield site.
Construction is slated to begin in January 2026.

About Jamauri Bogan
CEO and founder
Jamauri Bogan is a visionary leader with a deep commitment to community development and transformation. He began his career with a real estate license, and worked at Hollander Development from 2020 to 2024. There, he advanced from intern to partner in a new firm called Edison Community Partners.
He was integral in securing three affordable housing Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) awards from MSHDA:
a 70-unit senior housing project with Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood,
a 92-unit mixed-use development in Battle Creek, and
a 45-unit permanent supportive housing project for individuals in recovery in Kalamazoo’s Edison neighborhood.

His firm’s work has been transformative in Kalamazoo, with over $2.5 million in investment and a commitment to community-driven development.
Recognizing his unique approach, the City of Kalamazoo tapped Jamauri in 2020 for a transformative opportunity: redeveloping brownfield sites in the Northside Neighborhood. His first project there is at 315 E Frank St: Zone 32. Zone 32 is a mixed use development combining workforce housing and commercial space with early childhood education and childcare.
Beyond real estate, Jamauri is passionate about mentoring and empowering youth and the next generation of leaders. Jamauri also serves on several influential boards, including:
Western Michigan University Athletics Advisory Board
Western Michigan University Foundation Real Estate Committee
Through his leadership, Bogan Developments is dedicated not just to building buildings, but creating meaningful change. Their projects solve real problems for real people, offering communities the promise of a better tomorrow through mixed-use developments that are innovative, inclusive, and make an impact.
Bogan Developments is proud to be the only minority-led affordable housing developer in Kalamazoo and a trail-blazer in Southwest Michigan.
